This package (sra) provides a set of\ntools to analyse artificial-selection response datasets. The\ndata typically feature for several generations the average\nvalue of a trait in a population, the variance of the trait,\nthe population size and the average value of the parents that\nwere chosen to breed. Sra implements two families of models\naiming at describing the dynamics of the genetic architecture\nof the trait during the selection response. The first family\nrelies on purely descriptive (phenomenological) models, based\non an autoregressive framework. The second family provides\ndifferent mechanistic models, accounting e.g. for inbreeding,\nmutations, genetic and environmental canalization, or\nepistasis. The parameters underlying the dynamics of the time\nseries are estimated by maximum likelihood. The sra package\nthus provides (i) a wrapper for the R functions mle() and\noptim() aiming at fitting in a convenient way a predetermined\nset of models, and (ii) some functions to plot and analyze
